History

Owner Jim Tipke, who began by producing sprint cars, established Tipke Manufacturing Company, Inc. in January 1965.  By 1972, he had fabricated the Indianapolis car that driver Tom Sneva drove his rookie test in.  Shortly after, Tipke Manufacturing was producing Pedicabs for the 1974 World’s Fair in Spokane, WA.  Next came the development and manufacturing of birthing bed assemblies for the Borning Corporation, which have sold internationally.  In 1987, Jim designed and patented the Foldit Cart, which has sold successfully ever since.  In the early 1990’s Tipke Manufacturing moved to its current 27,000 square foot facility.
